The European Commission grants the “Cabrito de Extremadura” the distinction of Protected Geographical Indication.

The European Commission has included “Cabrito de Extremadura” in the register of protected designations of origin. “Cabrito de Extremadura” includes the meat from kids born, raised, and slaughtered in Extremadura, from the following breeds: Verata, Retinta, Florida, Malagueña, Murciano-Granadina, Blanca Andaluza, Serrana, Payoya, or their crosses.
